Security

Nordstrom maintains physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect the confidentiality and security of persons using the website. To keep information guarded, Nordstrom uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). SSL encrypts the customer's credit card numbers, name and address so only Nordstrom Direct is able to decode this information. 

To be sure that the connection is secure, visitors should look at the bottom status bar of their browser window. An unbroken key or a closed lock (depending on their browser) the SSL is active and  information is secure. Most browsers offer additional security alerts as well. Nordstrom provides a phone number (1-888-282-6060) if in any case a visitor to the site is having difficult gaining access to their secured server.

Customers are also encouraged to periodically check their accounts and to track their latest activity. Basically check for anything suspicious or unfamiliar and to identify Nordstrom immediately. Measures to take are:

• Installing the latest security updates and anti-virus software on your computer to help prevent malware and viruses
• Reset your e-mail account password
• Use complex passwords (a minimum of 7 alpha/numeric cAsE sEnsitive characters)
• Do not use the same password on more than one website
• Do not share your password with others
• Sign out/log off website sessions so that your session is closed and cannot be accessed by another user on the same computer, especially when using a public computer or terminal

Fraud

In order for customers to protect their personal information, Nordstrom urges users to avoid websites, e-mails or texts that try to lure them  into providing personal information with the offer of a Nordstrom gift card. Nordstrom does not sponsor these offers and are not affiliated with the promotion originators. For any customers aware of fraudulent activity on a website or in an e-mail or text, it is in their best interest to e forward the information to onlinefraud@nordstrom.com or call us at 1-888-282-6060 so that they can follow up.
